Don’t get me wrong, I found myself immensely entertained by the Smallville TV show and wished it could’ve gone on until the ends of time. However, once it ended i found myself acceptant towards the fact that it was done for good. Yet, here we are, introducing Season 11 of the show in the format that I doubt many people were excepting and/or hoping for: in the form of a comic. Granted it’ll be curious to see what shenanigans the writers pull out of their hats, since the show already introduced things like the Justice League, Doomsday, and Darkseid, and really, there aren’t that many threats left open to Superman within the Smallville universe, but we’ll see, as odds are I’ll convince myself to buy the book and see what precious little gems it has to offer.

“The Bourne Legacy” Trailer
Posted by okarbank on February 13, 2012
Unless you went out to see “Safe House” over the weekend, odds are good that you probably haven’t seen the trailer to the latest installment in the Bourne movie franchise. Not starring Matt Damon, but starring the incredibly tubular Jeremy Renner, you can tell the filmmakers went through a great deal of effort to ensure the feel of this movie is like that of all the others. I know people often complain about the fight sequences to these films, how they are too fast and kind of choppy, but I don’t care; I love it.

Abraham Lincoln vs. Vampires…What More Could You Ask For?
Posted by okarbank on February 13, 2012
I’m a huge fan of anything Timur Bekmambetov gets his Russian hands on. From “Night Watch” to “Wanted”, his unique style and filmmaking abilities have the tendency to make me squeal with delight. With “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, everything I’d want from the director is present. I’m really digging how they appraoch the material, not with a campy attitude, but with a genuinely serious approach, as thought Lincoln really did have mad kung-fu skills, some of which he presumably acquired through cutting down trees with a single stroke, in order to fight hordes of undead baddies. So yea, I’m excited.

“The Avengers” Extended Super Bowl Commercial…I’m Speechless
Posted by okarbank on February 7, 2012
Okay, that’s not entirely true. But I will say that I have not been more impressed by a short trailer, then with “The Avengers”. Granted, we all saw the teaser that popped up as a Super Bowl commercial, but the extended version…damn, it’s just so much better. At this point, all I need is for the movie to come out tomorrow and I’ll be happy. “The Avengers” looks bloody fantastic, and unless you don’t like movies, you’ll probably agree.

The Best Retelling of the Death of Superman…of All Time!!
Posted by okarbank on February 7, 2012
Director John Landis’ son, Max Landis, took it upon himself to give one of the most gloriously nerdy rants of all time. While clearly a comic book fan, Max apparently is not a fan of the ‘Death of Superman’ story arc, engaging in a 16 minute diatribe about each and every piece of insanity that found its way into this classic tale. What makes the video that much better, is the inclusion of actors like Elijah Wood, Simon Pegg, and Mandy Moore, all acting out key scenes from the comics. Honestly though, I couldn’t think of a more entertaining way to spend sixteen minutes.
